Dear Clients and Co-Workers;
I must readily admit that when I co-founded this company with just two mobile cranes back in 1990, I didn't have a business plan beyond providing excellent service to clients.
My
background was in transportation, so my intent was to surround myself with
great people and apply the skills I had acquired to the most useful degree
possible. I had no vision. I just enjoyed my work and had lots of energy and
determination.
Well a lot
of years have passed since 1990 but the energy, determination and great people
remain intact. What started as a small pebble dropped in big waters has created
a ripple effect. Eagle West has fanned out to encompass 120 staff, 51 mobile
cranes, 7 highway tractors, 68 trailers, 40 tower cranes, and a fleet of
specialized customer service and industrial moving units plus much more. This
growth has now evolved into several key self-sustaining divisions meeting the
market needs of our commercial and industrial clients.
These divisions have in turn created additional new business ventures, and as the B.C. economy shifts into high gear the ripple continues, with Eagle West expanding its asset base, scope of services and client base to meet the market head on.
Our
multi-discipline approach to projects (ie, combining rigging, lifting and
transportation) has led to numerous high-profile assignments, such as removing
the famous “W” from Vancouver’s
former Woodward's building when that facility was re-zoned as a residential
complex. These projects are now possible due to our new Liebherr mobile cranes
that can lift up to 270 tons and have a reach of over 345 feet; now few if any
tasks are beyond Eagle West’s capabilities.
We’re also becoming more involved in niche markets like our Industrial Moving Division and Rail Services Division. In these cases we combine our yard & logistics services with our transportation, cranes and industrial moving divisions to provide a total client solution. This involves custom designed service packages; including receiving items that will be used in construction, such as air conditioning units, and inventorying them in Abbotsford for a client until he needs them on-site; then, not just delivering them but also placing them directly where needed on site.
In conclusion, Eagle West’s long-term goals are very straightforward. “We intend to open more facilities throughout B.C., Alberta and Washington State, accompanied by a substantial growth of our tower crane division”.
What, however, won’t change is my personal mandate of surrounding myself with the best people – clients as well as staff. At Eagle West, we take care of the needs of our people first as well as the important people in their lives, and I can’t emphasize enough about how far that goes in ensuring our continued success.
I trust that you will find Eagle West Cranes a great company to work for or do business with.
Sincerely,
