Matthew’s House Gala Evening 2013
Matthew’s House Update
On September 14th, Matthew’s House hosted a gala at the beautiful Mt. Lehman Winery; it was an evening of glamping (glamorous camping) in support of BC families. It was the first annual fund raising event to help support Matthew’s House and the Campus of Care next to the Abbotsford hospital. Tickets were sold out, and the evening was a great success.
Abbotsford Mayor Banman acted as the evenings auctioneer. The highlight of the live auction was the “Storage Wars” style container bidding donated by Jamie Davis from the Discovery Channel show “Highway Thru Hell”.
The food was served by several different high profile food trucks from throughout the lower mainland. The amount of food provided actually challenged for one of our professional eaters, Sarah Klassen. She was unable to finish one of the seven courses.
All in all, the evening proved to be an enjoyable night. Our own Brad Paddock made it into the final 20 people in the 297 person “Heads or Tails” game but was outlasted by the final winner who had purchased 12 entries compared to Brad’s five.
The night was capped off by a series of fireworks that actually put our Canada celebration fireworks to shame! It was an amazing way to cap the event.
Eagle West Cranes (a division of TNT Crane Canada) is a proud sponsor of Matthew’s House and the Abbotsford Campus of Care and we look forward to November when Matt’s House opens!
