Redi-Rock Retaining Wall on the Evergreen Line

Eagle West Precast (a division of TNT Crane Canada), supplied and delivered Redi-Rock Retaining Wall on the Evergreen Line Project. Partnering with SNC Lavalin, this portion of the project required a combination of a retaining and freestanding wall blocks to build a 500′ retaining wall and fence combination.
On this portion of the project, SNC-Lavalin ran into an issue. They had to retain the soil in the parking lot as well as build a 4′ high safety fence. With a safety first focus, SNC Lavalin determined the only solution available was to use the combination of engineered Redi Rock gravity blocks and freestanding wall blocks.
The Redi Rock retaining wall blocks are being installed on the Evergreen Rapid Transit Project in Port Moody, BC .

More About the Evergreenline:
The Evergreen Line is on track to open in the summer of 2016 with construction in full swing along the alignment. Column and elevated guideway construction on North Road and Clarke Road will be completed this summer, marking another major milestone for the project. Meanwhile, construction activities are fully underway along Pinetree Way in Coquitlam’s city centre area. The launching truss will be assembled near the Coquitlam Central Station in the fall and will move north to build the elevated guideway.
The foundations and structures of the new stations are taking shape and work on the six new stations and the expanded Lougheed Town Centre Station will continue into late 2015. In Port Moody, the tunnel boring machine, now with its full trailing gear attached, will continue to bore its way towards the south tunnel portal in Burquitlam. The two-kilometre tunnel is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
